UAE Announces Visa on Arrival for 87 Countries

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has recently made a significant update to its visa exemption policy, extending the privilege to citizens from 87 countries to enter the country without the need for a pre-entry visa. This move aims to facilitate travel for tourists and streamline the visitation process to the UAE.

Details of the Update

Citizens from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries are exempt from visa requirements when visiting the UAE, needing only to present a passport issued by a GCC state or an identity card upon arrival. Eligible travelers can acquire a valid entry visa for 30 days upon arrival, with an additional grace period of 10 days. Moreover, citizens from specific countries have the option to extend their visa to 90 days upon arrival, providing added flexibility for longer visits.

Visa Requirements and Eligibility

For citizens of India, holding ordinary passports, a visit visa, or a permanent resident card issued by the USA, or possessing a residence visa in the UK and European Union countries valid for at least six months, they are eligible for a visa on arrival. This visa allows a stay of 14 days, with the possibility of extending it for an additional 14 days. In cases where prior visa arrangements are necessary, individuals not falling under visa exemption categories must obtain an entry permit issued by a sponsor before arriving in the UAE.

The UAE’s decision to offer visa on arrival to citizens of 87 countries reflects its commitment to enhancing tourism and simplifying travel procedures. This update not only benefits tourists but also strengthens the UAE’s position as a welcoming and accessible destination for visitors from around the world.

This move by the UAE to expand its visa on arrival program is a positive step towards boosting tourism and fostering international relations. By making travel more convenient for citizens of numerous countries, the UAE is demonstrating its openness and hospitality to the global community.
