Abu Dhabi Launches AgriFood Growth and Water Abundance Cluster

 A Key Initiative to Address Global Food Security and Water Scarcity Challenges

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates — In a strategic move to strengthen food security and water management, His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, member of the Executive Council and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Office for Investments, has approved the launch of the AgriFood Growth and Water Abundance Cluster (AGWA).

This innovative cluster aims to drive sustainable growth in the agri-food and water management sectors, positioning Abu Dhabi as a regional hub of excellence and innovation. AGWA will focus on attracting investments, fostering entrepreneurship, and developing advanced technological solutions to address global food security and water scarcity challenges.

Driving Sustainable Growth

The AGWA cluster is designed to create a conducive ecosystem for growth and innovation in the agri-food and water management sectors. Through a combination of incentives, cutting-edge infrastructure, and strategic collaborations, AGWA aims to attract leading companies, startups, and talent from around the world.

“AGWA is a key initiative to position Abu Dhabi as a global hub of excellence and innovation in the agri-food and water management sectors,” said His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. “By creating an environment conducive to sustainable growth, AGWA will significantly contribute to Abu Dhabi’s economic diversification and the achievement of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030.”

Long-term Impact

AGWA is expected to have a significant impact on Abu Dhabi’s economy and the region as a whole. According to projections, the cluster will contribute AED 90 billion to Abu Dhabi’s GDP and create over 60,000 new jobs by 2045.
